The trail starts in central Latali and ascends over the Bali Range, marking the border between feudal Svaneti, once ruled by the Dadeshkeliani noble family, and eastern Free Svaneti, which has never known feudal rule. Along this route, you will be treated to spectacular views of Latali, the Svaneti Range, Mt. Laila, and the magnificent Ushba.

The excitement of riding in Svaneti is, in just one word, authentic. You ride the same trails that locals use when tending cattle or going hunting. The horses you ride are the same ones that work in households, and even the gear is exactly what the owners use for their daily tasks. How much closer to the real experience can you get?

You don’t need to be an experienced rider to enjoy these tours. It's actually a perfect opportunity to try horseback riding! The mountain trails are not suitable for galloping, so the tours are mostly at a walking pace. In some places, you may need to dismount and lead the horse, especially on slippery downhill sections, but local horses are adept at choosing the best route.
